6 More Weeks!!!

I am in the middle of my 33rd week of this very last pregnancy, and Little Sarah can't get here fast enough. She's been beating me from the inside out nearly to the point of being sick. She's my most active baby yet! From time to time, I get curious about my current state of mind, physical feelings, etc during Emmy's pregnancy, so I took a peek at Week 33. Here's a little tidbit:
It's coming down to the wire. I feel excitement as well as the unknown when it comes down to it. I was sitting in the chair last night (the only chair that I can sit in comfortably in the entire house), and I was looking around at our house. We are about to stuff 6 people into out little 1200 square foot house. Hmm..this ought to be interesting!
More importantly than where we are going to all fit is the fact that our family will never be the same once Emily is born. Last night, it hit me that Sammy is no longer going to be the baby, Rachel will have a sister, and I will have 4 kids! Of course, there were several hundred more things that went through my mind at that moment as well, but I could never write them all down.
No matter how you look at it, this is what is ultimately true.
Our family is SO special to me. Everything about them makes me smile from Cody's 15 year old humor that never ceases to amaze me or Rachel's desire to be a grown up so bad it hurts to Sam's incessant talk of race cars or big trucks as we drive down the interstate. I can only imagine how adding yet another Corley to this "Clan" will enrich our lives.
It really is amazing how different Little Emmy's arrival has afftected our family. I can't wait for Sarah to get here! Here we are, about to stuff 7 people in our little 1200 square foot house. We will have 5 kids, and never a dull moment! Cody still has his humor (except that he's 16 now), Rachel is pretty sure that she's already a grown up, and Sam still talks...a lot...but has a much more extensive vocabulary. Emmy is just starting to walk, talk, and really show her personality.

The Corley Clan will be complete once Miss Sarah makes her arrival (except for a dog), and I can't wait to see where God leads us on our adventure in life!

When Rachel Holds the Camera

This is what happens...
Ok....that was gross!

Knock Knock!!

Emmy Needs Attention

Little Gabe

Now that I have a more flexible schedule, I've been keeping a friend's little here for a couple of hours every now and then while she goes to work. He is 2 months old, and quite possibly, going to marry one of our littles, if his Mom has anything to do with it!

Superheroes are Everywhere!

Here is "Superman Sam" with his buddy from church, "Batman Jed". Jed and Sam usually get together every Tuesday to play, and every Tuesday, imaginations go crazy!

Couch Conversations

I just read the 10 Year Anniversary Post to Rachel. This is the conversation that followed:

Rachel to Rusty - "Awww...That's so sweet! Did you read the book on what girls like?"

Rusty to Rachel - "I wrote the book."

Ha!

Emmy Walked!

Emmy started walking today. She took a couple of steps yesterday, but today, she was able to counter balance herself and keep going before she fell down. I'd say she went for a good 6 or 7 steps. Yaaayyyy Emmy!!! She'll be walking down the aisle before we know it (whether it be her college graduation or her wedding), and I'm sure to be the one sobbing on the front row.

The "Dreamcicles"

I had my 32 week checkup today (all is well in babyland, by the way), but I may have mentioned in past blog posts that I have always made fun of the girls in the doctor's office for having to wear their "dreamcicle scrubs" on Thursdays. At my last visit, I talked one of them into bringing me their own dreamcicle scrubs so that I could prank the rest of the nurses.

They really aren't going to know what to do without me once this pregnancy is over. They really aren't. I'll certainly miss them, but I can tell you now, I will not miss being pregnant!!

10 Years!

Rusty and I started dating 10 years ago today!
Technically, he asked me out for our first date on Valentine's Day, but I had to work, so instead of "going out", we played cards at the bookstore that I worked at. I now consider that "our first date", but as far as "dates" go, our first dinner and a movie happened on the 15th.
He bought me flowers; not roses either. I don't really like roses too much. Don't get me wrong, I like them, but coming from him, the wildflower arrangement that he gave me beat any long stemmed roses that he could have ever gotten me! He was (and is) the only man -- ever -- to give me flowers.
That night, we went to Corky Bells Seafood Restaurant that overlooked the St. John's River. It was known as one of the best seafood restaurants in Palatka (there may have been 2 seafood restaurants IN Palatka, but still). He is typically early EVERYWHERE he goes, so when I showed up "on time", he was already in the parking lot waiting for me.
Of course, as I arrived at the restaurant, I was very nervous. This was my first "real date" in my life. No one had ever really asked me out on a date properly, so this was a huge deal for me. He even PAID for my food!! In my nervousness, I passed the entry to the restaurant and nearly destroyed a field and my car in the process. I still haven't heard the end of that one!
After dinner, we went to see a movie (The Beach). The movie was horrible, but the company was the best I had ever had. We held hands, and after the movie and the drive back to my car, he gave me a kiss goodnight. He was a perfect gentleman!
That was 10 years ago.
Now, we've been married for nearly 7 years, have 5 children, have seen many arguments and tears, shared in so many laughs that I can't even remember, have some amazing friends and family, and are well on our way to a life full whatever God gives us.

HitchHiking?

This is a common daddy trait that obviously Emmy has picked up! Rusty can pick up anything with his toes, and it looks like Emmy will be able to too!

Chasing Emmy Again!

Emmy is getting more and more vocal (if you can believe that) each day! She really enjoys being chased, tickled, looked at with funny faces, etc. You do it, and she loves it!

Emmy, Emmy, Emmy

Emmy has SOO many different faces that she makes. I took these pictures in a matter of about 3 minutes. She really makes a great face once the flash of the camera goes off. It's adorable!

The Tent Tunnell

I propped my left foot up on the taller couch, my right foot up on the coffee table, and threw a blanket over my legs! Instant little entertainment!!

Pampered Daddy

The littles actually love giving Daddy some pampering! He got a foot rub, head rub, and back rub this afternoon.

Noodle Boy

Sam learned how to suck up a Ramen Noodle today. It was quite entertaining!
