To the Park We Went

I took the two bigger Littles to the park with Joey and Beth on Saturday. They played, they ran, they played hide and seek, they chased butterflies, they laughed, and they had a blast.

Rachel was convinced that she could catch a butterfly, and Sam was determined that he WOULD catch a butterfly if it was the very last thing that he did on this Earth. 

They were both disappointed, but it took them about 45 minutes to finally give up.

The First Step

Bejeweled Blitz

The first step to recovery is admitting that you have an addiction, so I hear.

It started when I was pregnant with Sarah. I was so exhausted all the time that I felt sick if I didn't lay down. It has continued into the nursing process with Sarah -- I'm just kinda stuck there with nothing to do while she nurses, so I play my game. I think that I may be in denial. But honestly, I have an addiction.

I don't know if they even have a support group for this.

I have spent 15.6 DAYS playing Bejeweled.

I don't know that I've spent that much time with God in the last 8 months, but I'm going to try.

I am done with Bejeweled.

Since Birth

Heather and I have been friends since she was born. Our grandmothers were best friends, and our parents were raised together. I am even named after her grandmother.

Connections like this are far from ordinary!

An Event for the Stars

 Joey invited Rachel and me to the event of the year -- well, at least in our minds it was!

The Challenger Learning Center hosted the IMAX 3D Launch Party, and all I can say is WOW! We got all prettied up, had gourmet food (Rachel and I BOTH had Sushi for the very first time - I liked it...she didn't), champagne, desserts, celebrity sightings, and then an amazing 3D movie about the Hubble telescope and just how amazing our technology is!

What's even better is how amazing our Creator is! After watching the film, it occurred to me just how complex life really is, and how anyone, ever, could say that God is not responsible for the beauty and complexity of our world and our universe just baffles me.

The Hubble Space Telescope can see out to a distance of several billions of light-years. A light-year is the distance that light travels in 1 year. Since light has a speed of 186,000 miles per second (light can travel about 7 times around the entire earth in 1 second!), light travels about 5,865,696,000,000 miles in just one year. You can attach 9 more zeros to the end of this to get 1 billion light-years and another one for 10 billion light-years. The farthest that Hubble has seen so far is about 10-15 billion light-years away. The farthest area looked at is called the Hubble Deep Field.

Jed's 4th Birthday

Jed had a Toy Story 2 birthday party - Sam says, "Jed's awesome, Mommy!"

Sarah - 5 Months

 Wow! What a blessing this Little girl has been! She's so happy, so loving, and so wonderful!

Developmentally, she is still small for her age (she's about 13 or so pounds - 10th percentile). Her baby hair is falling out and the new hair coming in is, you guessed it, RED! We'll see soon just how much stress I will have in about 13 years -- with 3 redheads in the house! Sarah's belly button is, quite possibly, the cutest belly button in the world, and she has one angel kiss on her right leg, and an adorable freckle on her butt! I'm sure she'll hate me for putting this on the blog one of these days, but if that's ALL she hates me for, I'll be good!

She isn't sleeping all night long anymore, but I think it's because she is a little wiggle worm and somehow gets free from her burrito swaddle. She does need, however, her "Lollie" to sleep with each and every night. Once Lollie gets to her face, her eyes roll back into her head, she closes her eyes, and Mr. Sand Man says hello! We misplaced her Lollie the other day...that wasn't a fun night!

She LOVES every single person that she has ever come in contact with -- she smiles constantly!

No teeth yet, but she has figured out how to roll over from her tummy to her back, which was quite the surprise.

Screamy Emmy - With a Twist at the "End"

Talking Tom is an app for the iPhone that repeats anything you say at a much higher pitch -- like that of a cat may sound like -- if it could speak, of course. It's really a great entertainment resource for the littles (thanks, Tine).

Emmy has actually taken Tom to a new level of squeal. She really enjoys playing with it, and could do it for quite some time, and be perfectly content. We decided to video her until she did something too cute for words, and "ended" up getting a little surprise from Sam -- on accident -- at around 6 minutes. You'll have to really look for it, but if you miss it, just wait for Rusty and I to just DIE LAUGHING, and then rewind.

You certainly won't be sorry for sticking it out until the "end".
