From where I grew up, Pensacola was a 6 - 7 hour drive (Depending on who was driving and if we had a radar detector or not). On a side note, my wonderful husband has invented a radar detector detector for the police cruiser to use to catch speeders. He absolutely hates speeders (except for his wonderful wifey).
Jasmine had been living on the Navy Base for a few months, and her Mom (Jeni), my friend, Angel, and I decided to go visit her. The Blue Angels were performing that weekend, so we figured that we could spend a nice day at the beach visiting with Jasmine.
We loaded up in the car that morning with our flip-flops, sunscreen, and beach towels. We were headed for a day of relaxation and excitement! As we left the barracks, we drove throught the military base.
Have you ever had one of those experiences where you see something strange, interesting, or exciting that no one else saw? You automatically start talking about the event with such enthusiasm that the people that did not see anything give you this, "Whatever, Rebekah" look. Well, as we were driving through the military base on our way to the beach
, I looked out of the window to see an Albino Squirrel. I have never in my life seen such an animal, and had also never knew that they existed. Granted, thinking about it now, I guess anything could be albino, but then, I thought that I had made a rare discovery that no one appreciated. I got the "Whatever, Rebekah" look from everyone in the car. Then they asked me what I was smoking because they wanted some.

It wasn't until recently that I remembered this conversation. Rusty was driving down the road and saw, you guessed it, an albino squirrel! Since that day, Rusty has called me every single time that he has seen an Albino Squirrel.
This blog is dedicated to Jasmine, Angel, and Jeni (who passed away a couple of years ago). I told you guys that I saw an Albino Squirrel!!!
