Rebekah's Update for Week 33:
The 4-D Ultrasound was an AMAZING experience. I am SO glad that we decided to do it!
The 4-D Ultrasound was an AMAZING experience. I am SO glad that we decided to do it!
Traci took a wonderful picture of me and my pregnant self on the Ultrasound table. Thanks, babe! For some reason, I feel SUPER fat, but I've been told that being pregnant does that to ya!
Week 33 gave me a cold that ultimately turned into a sinus
It's coming down to the wire. I feel excitement as well as the unknown when it comes down to it. I was sitting in the chair last night (the only chair that I can sit in comfortably in the entire house), and I was looking around at our house. We are about to stuff 6 people into out little 1200 square foot house. Hmm..this ought to be interesting!
More importantly than where we are going to all fit is the fact that our family will never be the same once Emily is born. Last night, it hit me that Sammy is no longer going to be the baby, Rachel will have a sister, and I will have 4 kids! Of course, there were several hundred more things that went through my mind at that moment as well, but I could never write them all down.
No matter how you look at it, this is what is ultimately true.
Our family is SO special to me. Everything about them makes me smile from Cody's 15 year old humor that never ceases to amaze me or Rachel's desire to be a grown up so bad it hurts to Sam's incessant talk of race cars or big trucks as we drive down the interstate. I can only imagine how adding yet another Corley to this "Clan" will enrich our lives.

This is the update from the website: Week 33
Your Baby's Development
In these last few weeks before delivery, the billions of developed neurons in your baby's brain are helping him or her to learn about the in-utero environment — your baby can listen, feel, and even see somewhat. Your baby’s eyes can detect light and the pupils can constrict and dilate in response to light. Like a newborn, your baby sleeps much of the time and even experiences the rapid eye movement (REM) stage, the sleep stage during which our most vivid dreams occur!
Your baby's lungs are almost completely matured. Fat will continue to be deposited on your baby's body for protection and warmth. Babies gain a good deal of their weight in the final few weeks before birth.

With labor and delivery only 2 months away, you may be considering how you'll cope with pain during childbirth. Among the things you'll want to learn about are the most commonly used techniques for pain relief. These include breathing techniques such as those taught in Lamaze classes, pain-relief medications given through injection, and epidurals, where doctors can give an anesthetic by means of a soft, thin catheter that's placed in your lower back. Whatever your ultimate choice, the more you know, the better informed your decision can be. Although you don't have to make a decision yet, talk to your health care provider now about your choices.
