We didn't do anything spectacular for July 4th this year. Normally, we spend it at SML, but last minute, we had to cancel that trip. So, instead of having some hot, humid, tired kid event at the park with the rest of the hot, humid, tired kids in Tallahassee, we stayed at home with our water guns and cheap ole fireworks. I'd have to say that with it just being us, this may have been one of my most favorite July 4th celebrations yet.
Earlier in the day, we went over to a church friend's house for an awesome cookout, and we had a great time. The kids know each other from church, so they all played real well together.
Rusty bought a watermelon, but it turned out to not look so great, even though it tasted pretty good. After the boys took care of it, they decided to play with their food. Who am I to argue?
Next year, we will more than likely be at the Lake again, but, believe it or not, it was pretty nice to just stay home this year. As much as I missed the lake, I am thankful for our time that we spent with "just us"!
