I pulled into the driveway, parked the van, let Sam out of his car seat, and instructed him to go on upstairs (Rusty was already home). Sam did so. Meanwhile, I got all of my car stuff together to take upstairs such as my backpack, lunch, drink, cellphone in pocket, keys in other pocket, strap Emmy's diaper bag across my back, etc. I got Emmy out of her chair, and headed inside. All of these things in the van took approximately 3-5 minutes.
I walked into the front door, and Rusty gives me this look of astonishment! He says, "Did you put him up to it?" I was completely confused at this point. Here's what Mr. Pants did.
Sam walked into the front door while I was gathering up the kitchen sink from the van. He started to take his shoes off, and Rusty asked, "Where's Mommy? Did you leave her down stairs?" Sam said, with a sigh, and without batting an eyebrow, "Mommy dropped me off, and I had to walk home. She went to Wal-Mart." Rusty said, "No way!" And again, Sam looked at him and said so matter-of-factly, "Yes, Daddy. She did."
I imagine that Rusty didn't believe him at first, but because it took me at least 3-5 minutes to come inside from the van, he had started to believe him, and was quite confused when I walked in!
Go Sammy!! Good one, buddy!

Amazing-I look forward to those days!
OMG! That's the funniest thing I've ever read!!! How on earth did he think of that?
Who knows! The little stinker said to him yesterday while I was taking a nap, "Daddy, Mommy left us!"
So cute! But boy, watch out for him!
