Christmas @ Babby's

After we left Smith Mountain Lake, we headed for Babby's house for a quick visit. I'd never been to the farm in the winter time. It is amazing how intensely beautiful it is there. I wish we could have stayed a little longer, but I'm happy that we had the opportunity to stay for what we could.
Uncle Bart took the kids out to gather the eggs for the day.
Babby, Sammy, Uncle Bart, and Rachel
Amazing. It's gorgeous.
Rusty took a breather with Emmy.
Babby took Rachel shopping for her 9th birthday. Hannah Montana came back with her from the store. I'm not sure where they stashed Rachel!
Babby treated us to the most spectacular Christmas lights that I have ever seen. Bristol Motor Speedway puts on an amazing light show. It took us nearly two hours to drive through it, but it was worth every minute of it. The time that we got to spend in the van together was entertainment enough with Cody's insane humor coupled with everyone's silliness. Fun stuff. One of the few good pictures that I could get. I really wish that my camera had a "Christmas Lights" function.
Rusty got to drive on the racetrack where the Nascar cars race! He had a HUGE grin on his face the ENTIRE time! We had to threaten his life to keep him from trying to drive on the dangerous parts...especially in the "mini".
The Kids
Our new family picture.
Wally was pretty tired from our visit. He camped out in his bed as much as possible. Oh! Wait! He does that anyway. Nevermind!
Sammy slept like a log every night. He went a mile a minute every day and skipped his naptime almost every day.
Emmy slept with her magic blanket. Boy, did she sleep!!
The trip home from Babby's was pretty long. It normally takes around 9.5 hours to get back, but it took right around 12.5 hours to make the trip. We were all pretty tired.
The view was incredible on the way home. It was real rainy and foggy, but I couldn't imagine a prettier picture.
