Last night, our plumbing went out. Again. I heard the gurgling in the master bathroom, and then next thing I know, all of the water from the laundry machine has backed up in to our shower, the toilets have NO water in them, and I am, yet again, pulling my hair out! This just happens right after our weekend of NO HEAT! Rusty (and Joey) fixed the heat, but costs just keep adding up.
So, as I am freaking out about the cost of a plumber, yet again, it comes time for our nightly family prayer before the kids go to bed.
I have often heard that you can ask God for anything. I truly believe this now. For my portion of the prayer, I asked God to help our plumbing issue to not cost us too much. Rusty follows up with a simple, "Lord, fix our plumbing, please."
We finished up prayer time, sent Rachel off to bed, and sent Sammy to go potty one last time before bed. I got distracted and forgot that Sammy was in the bathroom. Minutes after our prayer, Sam flushed the toilet. The NOISE that came from the bathroom told me instantly that we were in trouble. It sounded like he had flushed a squirrel down the toilet (which is Mom's story that I SO have to share with you all one day).
So, I ran into the bathroom and asked Rusty to go in to the Master bathroom to make sure that the water didn't run all over the floor. The toilet filled up with no problems. The Master bathroom toilet didn't even bubble. This morning, I did a load of laundry, a load of dishes, and rinsed off several other dishes in getting them ready for the next load in the dish washer. I took a shower, and I thought of washing the car, but I didn't want to push it.
God really is good! What I thought would be yet another $100 Plumber call turned in to a call to Him that cost nothing but faith. Within minutes of our prayer, our plumbing issue was no longer.
Amazing Grace!

Just caught up on all your news! You've been busy but hardly seemed phased by it at all. Congratulations on your new daughter. She is just beautiful - as is your entire family. Enjoyed all your pictures and sweet baby video. Best Wishes and Happy Holidays. Marsha
He is so faithful, isn't He? I LOVE stories like that. Please DO TELL about your mother and the squirrel. Was is it about our family and squirrels? When you go visit my parents next week, ask my father to tell you about HIS squirrel in the bookstore.
